Birthday Wishlist

If I could have anything I wanted for my birthday this year, these would be my top picks!
#1 - Sadly the pearlescent Hunter boots were never introduced in the states, but any other color would do! Pick your up here!

#2 - I have been in love with the Joe Lace up boot from Jeffrey Campbell ever since I saw them last year. They are sold at Free People! The site always seems to be added new color combinations, so hopefully everyone can find something they like!

#3 - As an avid reader, I am constantly buying new books for my nook! Gift cards are a great present because it lets the gifted have freedom to choose whatever they like! Pick yours up here!

#4 - Fujifilm Instax Mini is an awesome gift for anyone that loves and misses the fun and whimscial feel of the Polaroid camera. It's about half the size of its larger cousin, and delivers awesome instant photographs for everyone to enjoy!

#5 - Of all the things I have chosen, this is by far the most expensive! But if you or anyone you know is a professional photographer, this gift is sure to be greatly appreciated! The Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L IS Macro lens is the next on my list as far as photography supplies goes because of its versatility with macro and zoom! Pick yours up here!

#6 - If I could live in one article of clothing for the rest of my life, it would have to be maxi skirts. Free People maxi skirts to be precise. The FP X Lydia Maxi skirt is such a beautiful statement piece, and would surely get many compliments! Get yours here.

#7 - The last item on my list would have to be this Tuscan Moroccan shad rug in ivory from RugsUSA.com. I showed this in my Love for Rugs blog post last week as well. I just think it's such a nice subtle yet beautiful piece to add to any room.

Redo! Table Chair

I have had this chair at my kitchen table for quite a few years now and decided it needed a quick little revamp and pop of color! While I loved the natural wood finish when I first bought the chair, I also love to paint any and every paintable surface in my home!

This project took me less then 30 minutes to complete and offers a totally different look. All you need is...

- 1 can of spray paint of any color (I used an emerald green with a glossy finish)
- 1 yard of a fabric of your choice
- Hot glue gun with glue sticks *or* a staple gun
- Drop cloth or a surface you don't mind getting paint on
- *Optional* Sand paper/sanding block
- *Optional* Screwdriver (to remove seat cushion)
- Iron

Painting your chair:

Step one: Remove set cushion from your chair. (Some may be screwed into place)

Step two: *Optional* If your chair has an extremely glossy surface, you may need to sand it down to help the paint adhere easier to the chair.

Step two: Lay down your drop cloth outside or in a well ventilated area (if you choose to do this indoors, spray paint tends to leave residue on surrounding objects)

Step Three: Start spray painting your chair, covering everything with a nice even coat and let dry.

Step Four: After the first layer has dried, you may need to go back with another layer or just touch up some areas depending on your paint.

Step Five: *Optional* If you want your chair to have a shabby chic/vintage look, take your sand paper and go over all the edges of the chair and  wherever it would naturally show wear over time.

Covering your chair cushion:

This can be done while your first layer of paint is drying on your chair!

Step one: Remove old chair cover.

Step Two: Lay your fabric out flat face down with the chair cushion face down on top of it. Measure and draw out a 3 inch border (depending on the thickness of your chair, mine was 1 1/2 inches thick) around the cushion and cut.

Step three: Fold over all edges of your fabric a half inch and Iron into place.

Step four: Place fabric face down with chair cushion in place on top. Take your hot glue gun or staple gun and pull fabric tightly around the edge of your cushion and secure in place all around with your glue of staples.

Step five: Re-attach your cushion to your chair and enjoy!

Love for Rugs!

So recently I have been obsessing over a little website called Rugsusa.com! They have a huge selection of awesome rugs for amazing prices (all rugs all currently 50% off with the code: ESMA50). I always walk into Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware and fall in love with all their beautiful rugs until I look at their price tags and my heart breaks just a little... If you are looking to update your space with a great rug, take a look at my picks!

These synthetic over dyed rugs are probably my favorites! They have some many to colors to choose from to add a great pop of color to you home!
Click here for the Purple Rug and Turquoise Rug
I really love the simplicity and elegance of these two rugs!
Click the link for the Ivory Rug and the Grey Rug

I love the colors used in this Zebra Print Rug! Perfect for a animal print lover! My last pick for this post would have to be this multi color and desgin Wool Rug that has the highest price compared to the others, but I had to add it in because of beautiful and unique it is!

These last two are actually from a different website called Oudoor Rugs Only. They make some really cool recycled plastic outdoor rugs that can also be used indoors! My favorites come from the brand Mad Mats because they tend to use a lot of color which I LOVE! My favorite is the Oriental Turkish design in the color aqua, but I also love this Floral Rug as well!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Check back for more posts!
